If anything else could have gone wrong on this shoot, I don't know how. But I pulled some of the best work I've ever done and it came from being forced to get creative.
First we lost 2 models. I suggested my house to meet and get ready, which in hindsight was a terrible idea. The models nearly melted even with all my fans surrounding my bathroom. My oh-so-helpful 2 year old son decided the makeup made for a great toy. And of cousre he spilled a brand new, gorgeous thing of eye powder. It took far longer for the girls to get ready than I thought because I wasn't cracking the whip. So by the time we left we were already losing light. We had to park a little farther away from the site than anticipated. That's when the girls realized we'd left the jewelry we were there to photograph. The designer opted to just do the shoot with what we did have
with us. My gear setup went smooth and quick though!
with us. My gear setup went smooth and quick though! Once we got rolling, the light went fast and we had to pull out a flashlight so I could get a focal point. But once I got into a sweet spot it really started rolling! Lesson learned: when the shoot seems impossible, get creative!
